PLAN YOUR TRIP:
GETTING AROUND
Amsterdam boasts excellent transport links, fantastic
culture, and superb nightlife. In combination with the RAI,
one of Europe’s leading exhibition and convention ven-
ues, it all made for the perfect venue for IBC. Below find
out the best ways of getting to Amsterdam and arrang-
ing accommodation, getting to the venue and registering,
hints and tips on the City of Amsterdam and the best
ways of getting around.
TRAMS & BUSES
Tram 4 runs between the RAI (stop Europe Square), the
center of Amsterdam and Amsterdam Central Station.
From Amstel Station you can reach the RAI with metro
line 51 and bus 65. Metro 51 also runs to Amsterdam
Central. Metro 50 operates a regular service between
Amsterdam Sloterdijk and Gein and stops at RAI.
TRAINS
The RAI has its ‘own’ station, Amsterdam RAI. This station
is a stone’s throw from the RAI complex and is easily
accessible from all over the country by train. Follow the
signs ‘Amsterdam RAI’ as you leave the station. For more
information consult the NS planner on www.ns.nl/en.
BICYCLES
Inexpensive, good fun and probably the fastest way to
travel - Amsterdam is renowned for its abundant cyclists!
Bikes are available for rent at most railway stations or at
a bike dealers or rental agencies in town.
TAXIS
IBC’s preferred Taxi Company is TCA taxis. A typical taxi
journey from the RAI into the city centre should cost
around €20.00 and from Schiphol airport to the RAI it
should cost around €40.00. You will find the taxi rank at
the RAI next to the outside exhibition area.
