When I Was Little

By PrincessPurple

When I was little I wanted to be Wonder Woman. Then I got older and wanted to be an astronaut. When I was looking at my future getting out of high school, I knew I wanted to work for CNN. Then I signed up with the Army fighting for my country is the place I think I need to be.

When I grew up I didn't do any of those dream jobs. My being a grown up happened when I had a beautiful daughter. I had a job, raise the next generation of women. She could even run for President.

Why PP are you telling us this. Well Feb makes your PrincessPurple a year younger, I'm still waiting for that wisdom - it comes with age? How old do you have to be?

So health report, gets out thick folder. Yup the strange stuff comedians laugh about. Who knew your body does really hurt all the time. And I'm used to my family thinking I'm crazy. So health, check still kickin.

The house is empty, except fluffy and our roommates. No calls, "mom I forgot my math book. You can leave at the front desk...." She is living her life. Hey I did well she lived! Couple touch and goes, that is why I now dye my hair. It's quiet and the food bill is down.

For those of you that are empty nesters or looking forward to it. There is a change when it's the two of you. You try to rekindle the sex you had before kids. There is no need to call the ambulance you are not having a heart attack. When you had to have quickies cause of the kids, now its cause quick is all your body can take.

I'm here to say it's not all bad getting older. Fluffy is enjoying the Long John Silver restaurant they keep giving him a senior discount due to the grey in his hair. (He is younger than I am)

When you get to an age where there is no reason for you not to have an adventure. Something you haven't tried or maybe something you used to like but when you had kids it was too much of a pain or you just stopped doing it. Now is your chance.

I have found that when you get older you get to dream again. I don't see myself going into space. But Fluffy and I go camping, I'm learning how to rough it.

So PP why all this? I wanted to share my knowledge for those of you counting the days till graduation. Enjoy them they will be gone soon. Start looking for a hobby or dig out the old one soon no one will need you and you might have a min to do something you enjoy. The empty nest is one of the hardest things to do when you are getting older. Everything else about getting older is almost easy.

Once we looked to what we wanted to be. Later some of us find we got a better job than we had dreamed. I used to say, "I'll have done ____ by the time i'm 20. I will have done ________ by the time I'm 30." The I've reached a goal by age slowed down after that birthday.

Until now, I have a goal and I am sharing it

with you.

I'M GOING TO SKY DIVE TANDEM IN A YEAR

*(health permitting)

Yes, you heard me there really will be

Purple Rain. I've started a book. Thinking

of joining the Red Hats

(I miss my ROTC mommy days).

So report - I am still alive, not as fast

as I used to be but hey I have purple hair

so ppl can give me a senior discount.

I'm trying to live, love and laugh. That is all

the wisdom I've gotten, that and don't play

leap frog with a unicorn (wise advice from

my mother).

Keep dreaming, look for adventures, try

things, at this age dreaming is a bit easier.

Love Y’all no matter how old. PrincessPurple
