Movie Review - Valentine Addition

By Devilish Vikki

This month being Valentine's Day and me a big movie fan I thought I'd share some of my pix for romantic movies. Some are classics and some are fairly new and some may only be love stories to me but show some type of love. In no particular order...

Love story (1970) starring Ali MacGraw (Jenny Cavalleri) and a very young Ryan O'Neil (Oliver Barrett IV) A chance meeting at the college library both very different people who fall in love. After Oliver's father warns him not to marry or he be cut off...they marry anyway after getting a little ahead they decided it was time to start a family. Jenny sees a doctor after not conceiving a child only to find she is terminally ill. A complete tear jerker. I still love it. Some of the dialogue may be a bit Cheesy by today's standards but you still will cry.

Loving (2016)

This film is based on true events in the lives and marriage of Richard and Mildred Loving. Starring Joel Egerton Ruth Negga who give a believable portrayal of An Interracial couple in Virginia in 1958 it was illegal to marry if you were not of the same race. They both spent time in jail for misegration and left all their friends and family for love. After a few years they decided to fight the law so they could stop moving and to be able go home without the cover of the night. Their fight went all the way to the Supreme Court and won. I can't imagen having do all that for love. They had a fight at every turn at work and even some friends. Watching this I have two trains of thought ....how could people be so cruel, that really was not that long ago. The world owes them a lot they are heroes and they have changed the world.

SILVER LINING PLAYBOOK (2012)

I love this movie I like to think of it as modern love story being that it was true to life anyone who has failed at a serious relationship the first time and has issues when they get into a second one will love it also starring Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence. Pat played by Cooper returns home after spending time in a psychiatric hospital after finding out his wife was having an affair. Tiffany played by Lawrence has a hard time readjusting to life after her husband passes away. They come friends after a while then enter a dance contest all to win Pat's wife back in practicing for the contest and all the baggage they finally fall in love.
