OMG! New Twist on an Old Favorite

Grilled Peanut Butter & Jelly Sandwich

Ingredients:

2 tablespoons butter

2 slices bread – sourdough white; wheat, rye or your favorite sliced bread

2 tablespoons of peanut butter of choice (smooth or crunchy)

2 tablespoons of any fruit flavor jam (fruit pieces in the jam)

Preparation:

1.Heat greased griddle or skillet to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C)

2.Melt butter & set aside

3.Spread peanut butter on side of one slice of bread, and jam on the other. Top with other slice, so that peanut butter and jam are in the middle.

4.Spread melted butter on one side of the sandwich

5.Place sandwich, buttered side down on the griddle

6.Butter the other side of the sandwich (facing up)

7.Cook for 4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown, and heated through

Serve:

1.Slice grilled sandwich in half

2.Garnish with fresh fruit (apple slices; orange wedges; pear slices.

3.Serve immediately with a large glass of ice cold milk
