on the hunting route of King Henry VIII
when visiting his bride Anne Boleyn in her
country home at Hever and also the former
residence of Sir Winston Churchill, is the home
to another man who is quiet ly blending his
creativity and resourcefulness to make small

In this case it is not religion or sovereignty but
something more humble, namely wood.
This historical setting has become the perfect
inspiration for Jason Doran to develop his
passion for rescuing long neglected, abandoned
and sometimes scarred pieces of wood.

from his second home in Normandy France,
overlooked resources.
Ripe pickings have come from abandoned
Jason lovingly upcycles them giving each item a
second life as creative, functional centerpieces in
modern day homes.
he creates one of a kind pieces, which carry with
them their previous provenance.
Sometimes Jason will leave wood in its natural
state, as is the case with his Laurel and Oak
Century barn door in Normandy is reborn into
supporting role and are reused as table legs.
As the trend for upcycling and rejuvenation
continues Jason is very quietly creating his
own version of history while maintaining and
preserving that which has surrounded and
served us since the beginning of time.
