people | the sculptor JONATHAN LOXLEY Sam Yuide meets a man whose vision is as sharp as his chisel T here is an inherent sense of Jonathan Loxley that comes to bear in his stunning stone sculptures. From his childhood spent travelling near fatal duel with cerebral malaria, this is an artist who exists to defy form and traditions. From a humble start at Epsom School of Art, Jonathan soon moved to the home of sculpture, Florence, Italy, to develop his marble sculpture techniques. Returning to Britain, he took these newly honed skills and soon put them to use painting stage sets and creating Labyrinth and British comedy, A Fish Called Wanda.
