F the final checklist Here’s the wedding breakdown. • Bride’s jewellery: DIACOLOR, New Delhi • Wedding Choreographer: Shiamak Davar • Wedding Caterers: Ritu Dalmia and Marut Sikka • Event Planner: Efactor4u • Bride’s Outfit: Ambika Jain and Divya Kapur, Dabiri Couture or Anushree Tongya, the next-generation of fine jewellery house DIACOLOR, designing and making jewellery for her own wedding happened quite matter-of-factly. Theirs was a sweet and simple love story. Anushree met her man, Varun Chaudhary, an entrepreneur, and his mother at an event and even exchanged business cards without least suspecting that they were destined to be together. From a proposal set against the soothing waters of Lake Pichola, Udaipur, to a grand wedding spanning five ceremonies and spread out over three days in the City of Lakes, the gradiose affair entertained over 1,000 guests, including movie stars and several esteemed personalities. The festivities began with a formal black-tie dinner for which the bride donned a stylish gown. What followed next was a colourful mehendi and sangeet ceremony where the bride charmed the shutterbugs in a rose gold dainty lehenga and floral jewellery. Then came the traditional mudda teeka ceremony. A zesty, larger-than-life entertaiment evening was next. Finally, the ostentatious wedding provided the fitting finale to the gala line-up of events. All of her wedding trousseau was designed by Ambika Jain and Divya Kapur of Dabiri Couture, New Delhi, while the groom wore outfits from Herringbone & Sui, Mumbai. Her favourite was the red wedding lehenga, as she puts it:“Red is a colour of love, joy, and emotions.” What we simply love about this modern-day bride is her attitude. She says, “I carried nine pairs of fancy footwear. But what will surprise most brides is that I ended up wearing my FitFlop wedges the most, even under my lehengas!” A special mention must go to the entertainment evening. Shiamak Davar choreographed 5 Elements play with the Cirque Du Soleil for the event, which was followed by performances by Kanika Kapoor, Mika, and Alexandra Stan for the afterparty. Not to forget, Varun and Anushree’s high-voltage finale performance. ■ 83
