ACCEssoRIEs E ach season in fashion we eagerly await collaborations that bring together creative minds in unprecedented ways. None comes close to the announcement of a partnership between New York’s heritage brand, Coach and Los Angeles’ luxe favourite, Rodarte. Unlike most collaborations with high street retailers the capsule collection brings forth an amalgamation of quality and design unique to both the designers. The idea was incepted when the two fashion labels were scheduled to showcase their collections on the same day at New York Fashion Week (NYFW) in 2016. “We got to know Stuart (Vevers) during NYFW and found that we had a lot in common and that friendship resulted in a desire to work together,” recall the Rodarte sisters, Kate and Laura Mulleavy. The label known for its signature embroideries, appliqué techniques, and feminine silhouettes forays into leather accessories under Coach’s umbrella. “After coming in contact during NYFW, we started to build a relationship and came up with the idea of doing a special project together.
