SHARI TUCKER PHOTORAPHY VANSON AT FOTOGRAFFIKA make sure they work together as a group – either because they are all the same model or maybe the same colour or same genre of car. You can make a really interesting “entrance” to your reception venue along with your wedding party if you choose to rent a fleet of cars for the wedding day. CLASSIC CAR The classic Rolls-Royce limo is a staple on wedding days. Countless photos have been taken with brides in the backseats of white 1930s Rolls-Royce limos. But what about other classic cars? Why not look at renting a ‘60s T-Bird or even a Ford Model T? If you have a wedding theme (perhaps your décor and colours are from the ‘40s or ‘50s) consider renting a vehicle from that era. Classic Rolls aren’t the only antique vehicles available for rent. Try to find a car that truly matches each of your personalities. That might seem difficult at first, but take the time to visit rental places and look at the cars, sit in them and really get a feel for them. Every detail of your wedding day matters, and the car you pull up in should not be overlooked. TWO-WHEELED RIDE For the more adventurous brides and grooms out there, a twowheeled entrance to your reception might be in order. Motorcylces, scooters or Vespas are a great alternative to limos and cars. True, they’re only good for two, but as the newlyweds, you two should be on your own anyway. Vespas are classic and romantic and make for great photos. Just be sure to put a helmet on before you speed off, and try to practice driving your two-wheeled ride before the big day if you’ve never driven one before. EXOTIC LIMO If you absolutely must rent a limo, consider finding one that’s just a bit different than the norm. Pink limos are all the rage now, and if pink is your wedding colour (and the groom agrees) you’ll definitely be able to find a rose-coloured limo option to rent in your area. Party bus limos complete with jukeboxes and sometimes even hot tubs are also available across Canada, and for longer journeys to and from the church and venue, they make the ideal wedding transportation vehicles. If you lived in the UK, you’d be able to rent the only stretch Ferrari Modena limousine. But if you’re limited to Canada and the US, consider looking for the MINI Cooper LX limo (a stretch Cooper complete with a hot tub in the boot), which is making its way across Canada and the US on tour. Your wedding transportation should not be overlooked as a trivial part of your wedding day. Instead, make it an integral part of the whole event. Your transportation isn’t just for getting you from the church to the reception and then off to bed that night (or to a plane for your honeymoon if that’s the case), it’s also a great prop for wedding photos and a way for you to enjoy time alone with your partner after you’ve said your “I dos.” There are countless options out there, and really nothing is off-limits. If you’ve dreamt it, it can probably be done. So, dream away and make sure you get yourself to the church on time and in style. 2016 59
