Don’t come to an interview saying you want to be a director when you haven’t directed anything. Create a short film, show your passion. - Every opportunity you have to network, go network. Get out your comfort zone and talk to people. Don’t know what to say? Ask them questions, people love talking about themselves. - Have a variety of skills, finance included. You will use them one day. Have you ever wondered if there is a place where all media enthusiasts meet and deeply discuss, media related subjects? Well there is, the IBC (International Broadcasters Conference). Once a year IBC comes to the RAI in Amsterdam. Thousands of exhibits fill the halls and all the pros and amateurs from around the world, meet and discuss upcoming new trends. I took part in the Rising Stars programme which was free. Included: free food and a VIP invite to an exclusive after party with free drinks… But of course I got the chance to hear the professionals talk passionately about their work.
