Games are meant to be played wtih friends. Sometimes however, that doesnt really turn out the way you planned it. Some games seem to have ben created in order to test the strenght of your relationships. In no particular order here are some you should watch out for: Munchkin A game most probably created by someone who had too many friends and needed to cut the numbers down a bit. In this game the objective is to reach level 10 by slaying monsters. Thing is, every other player on the table knows what you’re up to and exactly how to put a swift end to your adventuring. Special “Curse” cards that can destroy your equipment, steal your loot or multiply the health of the monster you’re fighting… while you’re fighting it, thus sentencing you to your death. Worst of all is that they also have the option to help you defeat that monster, but apparently they would prefer to stab you in the back instead Dota / LoL / Smite The modern RTS genre is one capable of turning even the sweetest players into swear spewing monsters. The fact that there’s a possibility for an immense skill difference between players doesn’t help either. When you’re going for an objective and see your buddy carelessly doing god knows what at the other end of the map, you begin to feel the burden of inviting him to your game. When you warn him about an incoming enemy and he pays no attention and thus gets killed, you know you won’t be inviting him anymore Mario Kart Sometimes the worst culprits hide behind the most innocent of masks. Mario Kart is a game where you the last player in the race can blow up the first player by using a special power-up : The Blue Shell, a.k.a. the prophet of your destruction. Needless to say when you were seconds away from winning and that scumbag that you used to call a friend ruins your shot at glory, he wont be comming over to your place anymore Whether you cant keep up or your friend is failing at something, the key is to remember that its all just a game and you can easily make fun of even the worst situations. At the end of the day winning or losing doesn’t matter if you’re doing it together with friends. All aboard the S.S. Failboat! 32 34
