Remember those remedies your grandma
would always nag on about? Turns out she
wasn’t so far off on some of them, when you
consider the science! Be sure to get your magical DIY hands on and try some of them yourself. You may be pleasantly surprised.
Hair Growth
Always wanted gorgeous long hair comparable to Kim Kardashian’s? Massaging your scalp is (believe it or not) the perfect
solution! Massaging your scalp stimulates blood flow, enabling the
hair roots to receive more of the nutrients necessary for growth.
To add a soft touch to your massage, gently rub your scalp with
a mild lotion made of rosemary, nettle or burdock extracts. You
can even add a glossy touch to your hair by adding a few drops
of pure virgin olive oil to the mixture (or ‘potion’ – whatever tickles
your pickle). Wash out thoroughly when finished. And voila.
Insomnia
Lying in bed all snuggled up, toasty and warm, but finding it difficult to switch off and drift into a peaceful sleep? You know the
drill. Try the old fashioned wives tale of counting sheep with your
eyes shut. If all else fails, try a calming honey milk drink, scientifically proven to help aid sleep. It’s soothing effects will have you
sleeping like a baby in no time! You will need: 150 ml of milk, 1
drop of vanilla extract and 1 teaspoon of honey. Gently heat the
milk until warm in a small saucepan (don’t let it boil). Remove from
heat source and pour into a glass. Add a couple of vanilla drops
and a teaspoon of honey. Stir well and sip slowly before bed.
Say hello to a sweet peaceful sleep!

of minutes, depending on how strong you want to go. Be careful,
however. It can get very strong, fast! You don’t want to be spitting
out your drink!

been proven to combat them! The theory suggests that apple
cider vinegar is able to reduce mucus production and cleanse
the lymphatic system. It also aids digestion, weight loss and more.
So give it a try! Simply mix a teaspoon of unfiltered apple cider
vinegar into a glass of water and drink this three times a day.
This helps to relieve acute allergy symptoms, preventing allergy
attacks in the long run. You can find apple cider vinegar at most
health stores and online. Get sipping, guys!

Journal of Preventative Medicine, gargling salt water can help
prevent upper respiratory infections, as well as ease sore throat
pain and nasal congestion. Want to combat that gruesome cold?
Dissolve a teaspoon of salt in a glass of water, swish, gargle and
then spit out. Salt water is proven to reduce and loosen mucus,
