Tattoos are getting more popular by the day and we all know someone who has one. There is nothing unthinkable when it comes to tattoos and even the meaning behind them have changed over the years. Nowadays we see them in every design, colour, size and place on the body but it hasn’t always been like that. How did people even come up with tattoos and which tattoos belong to which period of time? The earliest tattoos began a little bit creepy and developed over a period that you might not even expect. In 3300 B.C. as a part of mourning people started putting the ash of their loved ones in self cut wounds. Hmm, doesn’t sound nice does it? Well to be honest, the reason behind some tattoos were not really ‘nice’ most of the time in the olden days. In the time of slavery and World War Two, tattoos were used to give the people a number, not ok at all. (pic of jews in holocaust) Luckily this isn’t the case anymore and the reason begin tattoos has changed. In the 1950s our hippie grandma’s and granddads took tattoos to a new level! (pic of hippie’s) Since that time the tattoos have developed. Every time has its own trends in the tattoo industry. Let’s see if you still recognize them: UH-OH tramp-stamp alarm! No, let’s not stereotype. Not every tattoo on your lower back is an instant a tramp-stamp, we are just talking about the old ones. Why do we even call it a tramp-stamp and where does it come from? This tattoo was really popular in the ‘70s, ‘80s and even the beginning of the ‘90s and in this time the women jeans had a low waist. So now you can guess.. when a woman bended over and she had a tattoo on her lower back, people thought that she was doing it on purpose to show off her tattoo. They called those woman tramps and so they called their tattoos tramp-stamps. Because of this a lot of people do not have a tribal with hearts on their lower back anymore, but more creative ones, if any. We all know the dolphin tattoo don’t we? The litte one on a woman’s shoulder or at the bottom of their belly. Those little animals were really popular to tattoo on your body in the ‘90s! A lot of people saw this tattoo as a sign of harmony and a peaceful balanced life. Even though the message is great, these days you don’t really see this dolphin in that form anymore. The trible tattoos were extremely popular in the ‘90s as well. We had some serious popular tattoos in the 90s guys! For the men it was really popular to get this tattoo on the upper arm or their backs. For women it was normal to have the tribal on their shoulder. In general the t ɥ
