WE
SPEAK
COLOR
“Color is my day-long
obsession, joy and torment.”
(Claude Monet)
Energy, sophistication and
serenity! That is how we
can describe the fashion
color trend report for 2018,
made by Pantone Color
Institute. Started in 1963,
Pantone is a leading color
expert among brand-ow-
ners, designers and ma-
nufacturers, dictating the
color trends every year.
Providing a desire for
colorful self-expressions is
key for 2018. The 2018
palette features 12 colors
and brings optimism and
confidence in the new
tendency. Moreover, it
expands the opportunity
for self-expression and
allows consumers to expe-
riment with color combi-
nations that they would
not have tried before.
Furthermore, recent sur-
veys made among millen-

the color that this genera-
tion prefers the most.
Believe it or not, Pantone
will keep in mind some
neutral and classic shades
as well. Pantone Color Ins-
titute executive director,
Leatrice Eiseman, said
that metallics that we
know are classic, but
people have moved over
to neutrals.
Intense colors have natu-
ral applications in our
lifestyle.
Speaking
of
which, we would like to
introduce you to millen-
nial pink - the color of
now. This sort of grape-
fruit shade of apricotty
salmon (as described by
The Guardian) was noti-
ced as a trend way back in
2014, with Wes Anderson’s
movie “The Grand Buda-

rose-gold model iPhone
was released and in 2016,
Pantone’s color of the year
was the Rose Quartz. This
year three shades of pink
take place in the color
palette – Pink Lavender,
Rapture Rose, Ash Rose.
When it comes to color,
there is no such thing as
barriers; only opportunity,
vibrancy and communica-
tion. The unusual and
contrasting 2018 shades
allow the consumers to
play with their imagina-
tion without any restric-
tions and to dare to expe-
riment.
The
colorful
fairytale behind the 2018
palette is the perfect
reflection of these new
sentiments.
