THE
ART
OF
IGAD
By Magdalena Nesteva
In the previous issue of Brewed, we
introduced you to a couple of artists
from the International Game Archi-
tecture and Design program.
Hereby we will present you the work
of other incredibly talented students
who dare to
experiment with color and
techniques in this challenging sphere.
Rodolfo Fava, Brazil
Rodolfo’s style of designing is unusual
and unique. His newest project is the
creation of a game in which you are able
to manage your character by a controller
which is a real barrel. Rodolfo is joking
that the main point of the game is to
make you feel awkward.
“You control two wheels – just cylinders
made of paint buckets, positioned in dif-
ferent angles. One is for balancing back
and forward and the other- to steer left
and right.”
He also explains that the player needs to
avoid approaching obstacles by maste-
ring this unusual controller, which requi-
res quick thinking and motor skills.
“It is meant to feel silly, amuse people and
at the same time to pose a challenge.”
He is still in the prototype stage, so he
and his team need to get as much con-
tent as they can in order to provide the
players with this delightful experience.
