Ramon Huiskamp, 4th year IGAD student
Can you shortly summarize
who you are?
I’m Ramon, a fourth-year game
design student at the NHTV. I
recently worked on ‘Defend
Your Friend’ and ‘The Red Stare’,
which ended up winning two
Dutch Game Awards. How was the transition from
school to business?
The most difficult part of the
transition has been moving to
the UK, and all the little things
that come along with that– like

number here.
Where did you do your inter-
nship?
I’m currently doing my interns-
hip at Sumo Digital in Sheffield,
an AAA game development
company in the UK. I’m here for
a year-long internship, which
will end around July. Was it hard working with pro-
fessionals as a student?
Not at all, I was able to get wor-
king in the first week, and I feel
like I’m able to contribute to the
game well, similar to my collea-
gues.
How did the employees welco-
me you?
Very openly! They were very
approachable for any questions
I had and helped me get settled
quickly.
