Speaking of illegal , what about the rebellion in graffiti and the political topics ?
Dennis : There ’ s a lot on that in our last festival . For example , the exhibition ‘ The design of dissent ’ is all about the artistic participation in rebellious acts . You can find some nice examples of work we showed in the festival related to the subject .
How do you create the concept of a mural ? Do artists decide on it themselves ?
Niek : Every time we plan a wall , we do research about it . Our colleague , Zanza , goes to the city ’ s archives and checks the history of the area and people that lived there . We make a research document that we present to the artist , then they sketch something , we discuss it together and come up with the final concept .

“ Art moves you , gives you emotion and gets you thinking .”

Is there something that doesn ’ t have any connection to Breda ?
Niek : Well , there are some that are a bit more abstract . Like the angel wings I mentioned by Kelsey Montague . She makes these giant wings and it ’ s always fun to take a picture in front of them . The wings have some elements in them connected to the place they ’ re situated in , but that ’ s actually a part of her personal project . It was just a cool wall to put up , because many people enjoy taking pictures in front of it .
In the ends , art is very subjective . It is free and can be found all over the place . All we have to do is pay attention to the museums we can find on the walls of our own cities .
