ome to majestic jaguars,
spirited spider monkeys,
lackadaisical sloths, lumbering
tapirs and other enchanting
neotropical creatures, La Selva
has remained a defining component of the
guest experience since the Zoo opened for the
very first time in March 1994.
Twenty-five years later, construction crews are
putting the finishing touches on the next step in
La Selva’s evolution.
“Rainforest Revealed takes everything you loved
about La Selva and cranks it up to 11,” said
Keith Winsten, the Zoo’s executive director. “All
of your favorite animals are returning—most of
them in new or expanded settings—and we’re
bringing in over a dozen new species to give you
a better sense of the unique biodiversity found
in this part of the world.”
