Celebrating the achievements of the Science Park
and wider innovation movement in the UK
he UKSPA Awards
complemented the S-Lab
Awards Programme at the
UKSPA/S-Lab Conference
at York Racecourse
Conference Centre in May [see p12-14].
The winners were announced at the
Gala Dinner on the Tuesday.
Entertainment was provided by
Vocalarity, a musical comedy act who
delivered comedy and sophisticated
wit through songs written specifically
for the evening. Following the
presentation of the S-Lab awards by
Director Peter James, UKSPA Chairman

Dr David Hardman presented the
winners of two joint UKSPA/S-Lab
awards and the UKSPA awards.
JOINT S-L AB AWARDS The S-Lab Awards were established
in 2012 to encourage university and
other laboratory owners to improve
their performance. University of Strathclyde which
facilitates research and knowledge
exchange between academics and
industry. Following completion, the
local area has been transformed from
a semi-derelict urban brownfield site
into a bustling city centre locale with
cafés, a local park, and popular provisions
for seating and gathering.
