Jim Simmons is the Director for Brand Protection for Qualcomm Inc . He is responsible for the establishment and leading Brand Protection ’ s Forensic Lab focused on Global IP violations , Trademark abuse , and Counterfeit and Royalty Compliance investigations . Jim has 15 years of global brand protection experience ranging from partner audits and training , grey market supply chain investigations and internal employee code of conduct actions . Prior to Qualcomm , he was with Cisco ’ s Brand Protection team focusing on channel compliance efforts and counterfeit investigations for Latin America and prior to Cisco , he was with HP / Compaq ’ s Brand Protection team which resulted in multi-million dollar civil and criminal cases tied to grey market fraud investigations . Jim served as Vice President of Membership Services for China based , Quality Brand Protection Committee and participated in the founding of AGMA . Jim is a Certified Fraud Examiner , has a Finance Degree for the University of Texas and a Master ’ s in Criminal Justice from Boston University .

Anshuman Vaidya is a Criminal Prosecutor with the State ’ s Attorney ’ s Office for the County of Cook in Chicago , Illinois . He currently serves as the Deputy Supervisor of the Public Corruption and Financial Crimes Unit in the Special Prosecutions Bureau . Prior to that , Anshuman worked for twelve years as a prosecutor at the Illinois Attorney General ’ s Office , specializing in white-collar crime , tax evasion , and consumer protection . At the Attorney General ’ s Office , Anshuman served as the head of the Attorney General ’ s tax crimes unit , overseeing grand jury investigations and criminal prosecutions throughout the state and serving as counsel to the Illinois Department of Revenue . Throughout his career Anshuman has handled cases involving multi-million-dollar bank fraud schemes , corporate embezzlement , organized crime , sexual assault , first-degree murder , and economic crimes perpetrated against the State of Illinois or the United States Government . In addition , Anshuman has litigated numerous complex civil actions on behalf of the People of Illinois to enjoin unfair and deceptive business practices and obtain restitution and disgorgement of illegal profits . In addition to being a prosecutor , Anshuman spent four years as an adjunct professor at Loyola University Chicago School of Law , teaching first year legal writing . Prior to that Anshuman served as a guest lecturer in Eastern Europe through the IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law , teaching graduate level criminal law classes in Kharkiv , Ukraine and Wroclaw , Poland . Anshuman is a graduate of Northwestern University and The University of Wisconsin Law School .
