“Don't you dare step into my
house ever again...!”
These are polished version of
words that were screamed at a
young man who really wanted
to make an impression by approaching the surviving parent
of the girl he hoped to get married to.
This parent had singlehandedly raised her 21 year old
daughter and 8 other siblings
after the death of her husband
10 years prior. She had legitimate reasons. She needed to
protect her own.
But he only went to declare his
intentions, why was she so angry? But no use asking, action
was needed.
Undaunted, he went and gathered support from his older
family members, pastor and
other leaders to help in the first
step of the journey of a lifetime.
It was a long walk to freedom,
according to Mandela but finally almost 3 years afterward, a
