A few years ago I invited a group of young adults who are yet to be
married to ask any 10 questions that are most important to them. The
only requirement is that the subject matter of the question has to be
marriage and/or relationship. In other to encourage them to ask
questions that are personal to them no matter how little or big without fear of being ridiculed we gave them the option of asking those
questions anonymously. One young man, who I later identified as Victor Jr, my son sent in five questions including one that was interesting
and personal. He asked, “How do you deal with being with the same
person for 24 hours a day, Seven days a week, 30 days a month and
365 days a year for the rest of your life?.
For the first time since my wife and I start our work in marriage and
relationship it hit me that marriage can indeed be a life sentence in
paradise or a death sentence in prison, heavenly bliss or hellish nightmare depending on the parties involved. One preacher, Prof Victor
Olukoya of the Mountain of Fire Ministries said it better when he said, “If you are not a Christian you will go to hell when you die. Whether you are a Christian or not if you marry the
wrong person you will live in hell right here on earth before you die. Therefore if you are not a
Christian and marry the wrong person you live in hell right here on earth while you are alive
and proceed to hell when you die”
