BOSSY: Speaking of family, your business partners in Kazmaleje are your sisters. Tell me what that’s like.

LaToya: It’s definitely interesting. We have a really good relationship. You definitely see us a lot out and about together. Especially with my middle sister LaTasha, everyone thinks we are twins but we are 8 years apart. I’m the oldest sister. I think the only challenges we really have are the separation between family and business. It’s harder to know when we are discussing certain things to not take it personal, because it’s business. Also a lot of our skill sets overlap so we have to make it a point to know that everyone has really clear roles or tasks and responsibilities. LaTasha is the more creative one, for instance she designed a lot of our swag items, but she also has a finance degree and is a licensed cosmetologist. So that’s her wheel house. Now for me it’s a lot more project management and production, product design and product development. LaTrice focuses on the fundraising and social media, she’s also great at photography so she does a lot of our photo shoots. So while we have some overlapping skills we have our niches as well which makes us a really good team.
