I knew we were seeing many more women rocking their hair in its natural kinky, curly and wavy state. We thought it was time to see more entrepreneurs. We knew there many Mikos and Titis out there. Maybe if they just knew our story they would be inspired to create their own business.
BOSSY!: What’s the most important thing you want the person who reads this book to take away from it?
Miko: If we can do it, you can do it to. That’s most important thing. Our book, Miss Jessie’s- Creating a Business from Scratch Naturally, is a business memoir. It’s part business, part personal. It really lets you in our thinking how we reacted to certain situations or how we were proactive. I think Tit’ and I believed that we had a lot of experience that were familiar to many people and if they heard our story, they might feel like okay these girls are just like me. Maybe they would try their hand at being their own boss.
BOSSY!: I love that! So you’ve built this crazy successful business and written this best seller. What’s next for Miko Branch and what’s next for Miss Jessie’s?
Miko: As we speak Miss Jessie’s is putting the finishing touches on some wonderful new products that we will be bringing out to market. I have been fortunate enough to continue a tour on a book that cane out in 2015! Once I finish this tour, I’ll be coming with a second book.
BOSSY!: We will definitely be on the lookout for that!
Miko Branch is a fighter, she has pushed through adversity and the tragedy of her sister Titi Branch’s death. Yet she still has such a joyful and giving spirit. And I find that #sobossy!
