Shelly Rockstar: I could never move on from writing. It’s my very first love. It takes all the noise, notes and notions from my head and make sense of it all or not. Any song writer goes through the same process. The thoughts from their mind translate in song notes and lyrics. That will always stem from writing. But to your question, I don’t think you should limit yourself. I would caution not having too many things going on because you have to focus. You typically are the one doing all the work, and you can’t be everywhere at once. Overall, whatever is speaking the loudest to you, the one thing that keeps popping into your head or you always revert back to, that worth looking into. I believe in signs..

BOSSY!: How do you do it? How can you pursue your dreams while raising a family?

Shelly Rockstar: Am I doing it? (nervous laughter) Seriously I thank God for help. My daughter is teaching me so much. Everything is discovery for me being a new mother. I have a wonderful man in my life who is an outstanding father, I have an incredible supportive family who has been there to babysit, counsel, feed, slap back to reality and love me unconditionally. I have other moms who don’t mom-shame me and give real advice. I don’t think its possible without a support system. And I stress the word system because I’ve found it only works when you share the load amongst more than one friend or you have that one poor friend who wishes you would get your life together and stop calling them all the doggone time.
