NAME: Scoday and Steelo Jackson
LOCATION: We're both born and raised in Chicago and currently reside there as well. Sco is from the West side and Steelo is from the South side.
How long have you been into music and what was the attraction? We've been into music our whole lives but broadly, 10 years plus. Our main attraction to music was the space created in which we could be ourselves vocally coming across sonically. (Steelo)
What other talents do you have? Well I'm a master Barber. I've been cutting hair for over 10 years. (Sco) I'm a writer and community activist who does the public speaking for the organization in which I work. (Steelo)
Tell us about recent events and projects: We have done a couple of shows while also working on our mixtape "Cloud Fly" and our LP "Superfly Supermanish" , which we feel are great bodies of work to date.
What do you like most about music and creating it? What I like most about doing music is being organic. You get the opportunity to really showcase your diversity and current happenings. (Sco) I love the feeling I get when coming up with an idea for a song. The best feeling in the world is when someone other than your immediate crowd feels where you were coming from. (Steelo)
What is your short term goal? To at least go platinum once and to receive an award show nomination.
What is your long term goal? Our long term music goal is to stay as relevant as our interest allows us to. That and 100 million records sold along with some acting endeavors.
Who are some of your favorite artists/producers? Our favorite artists are: A Tribe Called Quest,Common, Flipmode Squad, Outkast, Snoop, Jay-Z, N.E.R.D, The Roots, The Internet, Kaytranada and etc. Our favorite producers are Dr. Dre, Timbaland, The Neptunes, Q-Tip, Kanye West, Kaytranada, ASAP camp, Ball of Hotstylz and Le' aire from Supa Gud Productions.
What type of adversities have you had to overcome in your endeavors? Hatred, doubt and dreaming while others chose to sleep.
What is a stand out moment of your career? A stand out moment for me will always be being accepted by the crowd in which we perform, meeting Yung Joc, Jeremih and Nas and performing for Shawnna's birthday at Mr. G's in Chicago one year.
How do you stand out among other artists? You will ALWAYS standout by being original... Period!!!!
Tell us a fact about you two:A fact about me is that I'm straight and direct at all times. (Scoday) A fact about me is that I love to sort out people's problems while helping them in the process... That and Praline ice cream. (Steelo)
B.o.s.s Code stands for Business Over Social Stress, how can you relate with that in your life and career goals? I'm a community activist. I experience social stress just walking to the corner store which is why I try and change what I can when I can. I try to make one person smile a day. My goal is to house 1 million homeless people if not more and to create different avenues for job availability for youth in Chicago. (Steelo Jackson)
