Bosch Stemele improves public transport infrastructure
in the City of Tshwane

In April 2012, the City of Tshwane appointed Bosch Stemele
to provide multi-disciplinary Consulting Engineers Services
for the proposed Mabopane Station Modal Interchange
Project which comprises upgrading the North West Taxi
Rank and the design of the new Rietgat Public Transport
Facilities. The scope includes upgrading the existing feeder
roads adjacent to the Rietgat facility.
While the upgrade of North West Taxi Rank involves minor
alterations to the existing roof canopies, hawker stalls and
block paving, the upgrade of the Rietgat Public Transport
Facility involves a major overhaul as the existing facility has
fallen into disrepair. The proposed upgrade includes provision
of 35 bus loading / offloading and holding facilities, 200 taxi
loading / offloading and holding facilities with a 12,500m3
new roof structure, designed by Holm Jordaan Architects and
