The National Health Department requested the DBSA and the Council for Scientific Industrial Research (CSIR) to assist with implementing point four of the National Health Strategic Plan to overhaul the healthcare system and improve its management. The request is a result of the role the DBSA played in developing the Health Roadmap, a key input to the National Health Strategic Plan and the transformation of the Health System. These upgrades and expansion requirements will align the current facilities with the National Master Plan outcomes.
