Bosch Technology and Operations lead the way for
Biowaste to Energy Project
Bosch Holdings is proud to announce the commencement
of a unique biowaste to energy project in Bronkhorstspruit
district, Gauteng. The project is the first of its kind in South
Africa and sees the conversion of agricultural waste to
electricity for distribution to industry for green manufacturing.
The project developer, Bio2Watt, contracted Bosch Projects
as its technology partner for the design and construction of
the Bronkhorstspruit Biogas Plant and Bosch Munitech for the
commissioning and on-going operation and maintenance of the
facility. Bosch Projects’ innovative technological solution proved
to be instrumental to the feasibility of the project.

The 4MW plant is designed to digest multiple agricultural
waste streams including cattle manure, food processing plant
waste and abattoir waste to produce methane gas, which is
then converted to electricity via gas engines. Construction will
commence in May 2014, with commissioning in January 2015. )
