Transformation - Women in Engineering
“Celebrating the Woman in You”.
Bosch Stemele not only acknowledges the importance of
transformation in its entirety, but recognises and highly
respects women in the civil engineering industry.
The East London Regional office recently hosted their first
extremely successful Woman’s Day Luncheon, where there
was a good spread of clients and peers alike from various
industries, some travelling from far afield.
Our Managing Director, Danai Magugumela, who was also in
attendance, is the recipient of numerous awards and in addition
to her many qualifications, Danai has an exceptional track
record in the industry, spanning over 20 years. She holds an MSc
in Civil Engineering and is a Registered Professional Engineer.
She is also a Fellow of the Academy of Engineering and serves
on the Board and Built Environment Advisory Committee
of the University of Pretoria. Danai gave an enlightening talk
entitled, Celebrating the Woman in You, which was the theme
for the day.
In what was traditionally known as a male dominated
environment, women have certainly made a powerful mark in
the industry from entry level, to management and directorship
level, thus marking the dawn of a new era.
Guests were also provided with a motivational dialogue on
“finding a balance between work and life”.
