Bosch Munitech Expands into Irrigation System Construction
Bosch Munitech has leveraged its industry leading mechanical,
electrical and civils construction capacity to branch into
irrigation system construction. With 3 projects in 2 provinces
appointed within the first year of tendering in the sector, the
irrigation service offering is off to a flying start.
The first 2 projects comprised the construction of small to
medium sized systems. A single centre pivot installation and
pump station refurbishment project was undertaken for the
Agricultural Development Agency in KwaZulu-Natal and
the Moutse irrigation project, for the Department of Rural
Development and Land Reform in Limpopo, comprised the
green-fields construction of a pump station and a 3 centre pivot
system. These projects provided irrigation for maize, vegetables
and grazing respectively.
Development and Land Reform. The project comprises the
construction of a pump station, bulk reticulation, 2Ml lined steel
reservoir and drag lines. The crop under irrigation is sugarcane
and vegetables.
All the beneficiaries of the above projects are emerging and
community farmers demonstrating government’s commitment
to the development of agriculture in South Africa. Bosch
Munitech is proud to partner with government in providing
support to our farmers and thus to the nation at large.

The flagship project to-date is the Clanso Irrigation Scheme
on the outskirts of Empangeni in KwaZulu-Natal, with the
Client being the provincial office of the Department of Rural
