Bosch Projects do Brasil offers consulting services Bosch Projects do Brasil (BPB), which was established in São Paulo state by Durban-based Bosch Projects in September 2007, is now offering specialist consulting services to Brazil’s sugar sector. This new service follows the success of BPB and Dedini’s recent sale of nine Chainless Diffusers in Brazil. Besides the continuation of its technical support to Dedini for sales, installation and commissioning of Chainless Diffusers and related sugar equipment, BPB will, with its own resources, now offer consulting services to the Brazilian sugar cane industry. Sugar Equipment update Bosch Projects has provided equipment designs to international partners for a range of projects. In doing so, they have strengthened their position as a leading player in the international sugar technology arena. The following Continuous Vacuum Pan (CVP) designs have recently been implemented at various factories around the world: • • • Philippines – CADP: 120m3 CVP Thailand – United Farmers and Eastern Sugars: 200m3 CVP Thailand – Khon Kean: 280m3 CVP A 280m3 CVP in Thailand Specialist services on offer include sugar consulting (energy and mass balance, feasibility studies, sugar processing and operational improvements) and project management - encompassing project organisation, as well as implementation planning and control methodologies. “BPB will adapt the valuable assets of engineering, technology and experience from Bosch Projects in South Africa to Brazilian conditions.” The Brazilian sugar cane industry, the biggest in the world - has 450 mills that processed 600 million tons of sugar cane, to produce 32 million tons of sugar and 27 billion litres of ethanol, in the 2008/2009 season. The Calandria of HC and S CVP These pans are all of a ‘split’ configuration so that one half can be operated independently of the other half whilst being supplied at different steam pressures if required. Interestingly, these pans are marginally smaller than the largest CVP’s in the world, which are 300m3. On the other end of the scale is a 33m3 stainless steel CVP that was supplied through Honiron Corporation to the Hawaiian Commercial and Sugar Company for producing white sugar. Two C-Massecuite Vertical Crystallisers and a Reheater were also supplied through Honiron to MA Patout’s Enterprise factory in Louisiana. This reheater incorporated Bosch Projects’ R&D’s new innovatively designed stainless steel finned water tubes manufactured using a continuous resistance welding process. Our rotary juice screens continue to perform well in the industry. In addition to 16 Bosch Projects rotary screens manufactured by Dedini for the Brazilian Sugar Industry, more screens have also been shipped to Cameroon, Tanzania and Zambia. Newly appointed MD Fábio Bellam with retiring MD Marcello Freire BPB has appointed Ricardo de Souza Albino as Process Engineer and João Gullo Junior as Mechanical Engineer. The team is headed up by Fábio Bellam, who was recently do BRASIL Ltda appointed as BPB’s Managing Director. New orders received recently include the supply of a CVP, a Long Tube evaporator and a Roberts evaporator to Maragra SARL in Mozambique. Commissioning of these units is planned for the start of the 2010 milling season. A new whole-stick shredder, in three different capacities, has recently been developed by the Sugar Equipment design team and is being marketed on a global basis.
