15 Bosch Ulwazi hosts 2017 Annual Engineer-in-Training Conference Bosch Ulwazi hosted the 2017 Engineer-in-Training Conference at the Bosch Holdings head office in Umhlanga, Durban. This annual conference is the highlight of the calendar for engineers and technicians from across Bosch Holdings, who are enrolled in the in-house EIT candidacy programme towards professional registration. The event provides an interactive platform for graduates to showcase the knowledge and skills they acquire from projects they have worked on during the year. We congratulate all the 2017 graduates and in particular, second year EIT Sashnee Naicker, who won the first place trophy. Edward Mukhari was awarded second place and Satvika Harilal, third. Balan Govender [email protected] L-R: Satvika Harilal, Sashnee Naicker and Edward Mukhari Aspire Hospital - Nairobi Bosch East Africa have been appointed as the full MEP (Mechanical Electrical and Piping) Engineers on a new, privately owned, 130 bed hospital to be built in Nairobi. There is a shortage of medical facilities in Nairobi and this hospital’s location will meet the needs of the local community, who otherwise would have to travel substantial distances to receive proper medical treatment. The hospital will consist of five operating theatres, pre and post operation wards, ICU, NICU, HDU, a maternity section and general male and female wards. Bosch East Africa are responsible for the full design, drawings, documentation, tender process, construction supervision and testing and commissioning of the following services: • Electrical reticulation, lighting, small power, ICT and nurse call systems • Backup generators and uninterruptible power supplies • Potable Water Supply • Secondary water treatment through reverse osmosis • Plumbing and foul water drainage • Solar-heated water throughout the hospital • Air-conditioning and ventilation system • Fresh air supply and smoke extraction systems • A fire-fighting system • Medical gas installation for oxygen, medical air, nitrous oxide and vacuum in operating theatres, ICU and wards • Kitchen and laundry facilities and cold rooms.
