Painting it pink
Whakatāne’s pink Community Mental Health team.
Teams of staff in Whakatāne and Tauranga
turned a shade of pink recently, joining the
Pink Shirt Day movement, standing together to
take action against bullying.
Pink Shirt Day is a global initiative, led in New Zealand by the
Mental Health Foundation to raise awareness and stop bullying.
Bullying is a serious issue in New Zealand – 1 in 5 workers are
affected by bullying and our schools have the second highest rate
of bullying out of 51 countries.
