Matariki is a time of being with whānau,
and preparing the community for the
coming growing season.
This year Māori Health and partners have events at both
Whakatāne and Tauranga hospitals.
Matariki is the constellation known as Pleiades. The
rising of Matariki marks the Māori New Year and is
tracked from the midwinter new moon, this year from
Friday 15 June 2018.
To find out what’s happening at our hospitals visit the
OnePlace Matariki page.
