Celebrating our CARE values

Question : What ’ s a celebration without cake ? Answer : Not a celebration .
As our new look CARE values were released in July , it has been a time of celebration .
A celebration that since May 2016 staff have positively engaged in creating a new and vibrant culture for our organisation .
The Creating our Culture campaign required staff , leaders and patients , to participate through online surveys , attending sessions and workshops to create the culture they want for the DHB .
In November last year , 1010 staff and 289 patients , families and their whānau , attended 17 sessions across both Whakatāne and Tauranga sites , 1826 surveys were completed ( 1537 by staff and 289 by patients ) 486 evaluations of the sessions were filled in and staff feedback was collated into 377 A4 pages , and the Staff Engagement and Culture site on OnePlace was visited 2425 times by staff .
Then in February 2017 we continued creating our culture with 13 sessions held over a week , at Whakatāne and Tauranga . Eight hundred and seventy nine ( 879 ) staff attended with a late night session to give feedback to our night staff .
Then in May this year , 263 members of staff participated in workshops which were interactive and creative .
Is this something to celebrate ? YES .
