The Transit Lounge is here to help and is part of the normal patient flow and discharge process We can do anything the ward does for discharge We can give final dose of IVAB. Assistance arranging transport home and dispensing taxi chits. Patients with ESBL & MRSA. Transfer to rest home. Referrals to District Nursing and STS. Change of dressings, removal of clips and sutures. Review by nurse specialist e.g. diabetes, respiratory, cardiac, HITH + Dietician and pharmacist YES can be done in transit. Education on Clexane, drains and more!  We do all the above and much more just ask us Exceptions are Contact Isolation for gastroenteritis. Patient’s requiring use of Hoist or Sara Steady. Iron infusions, Vaccination’s and Telemetry monitoring.  NO 1 Your Patient has been cleared for discharge 2 3 We will come and pick and pack up your patient or organise the orderly and transfer to the transit lounge. This includes the ability to walk to toilet facilities safely or able to summon nursing assistance.
