What ’ s happening in the digital learning space ?

Our Microsoft software face-to-face training sessions are all set for the first part of the year and are now in the Training Calendar . Visit to OnePlace , My Menu and Training Calendar . You can save time by clicking on Filter and choose IT . This will show only the IT training sessions .
• We continue to build our Just in Time courses ; we are currently working on a Just in Time Powerpoint course .
• Our third intake of the very successful New Zealand Certificate in Computing ( User Fundamentals ) level 2 has started and we are looking at the possibility of a level 3 course starting later this year .
• Our current New Zealand Certificate in Adult and Tertiary Teaching Level 4 is due to end soon and we are very pleased with how many people who have become qualified trainers and assessors within BOPDHB . Watch this space !

Digital Fix

There are two ways to convert a word document to the latest version of word .
Open the ‘ old ’ file and select ‘ Save As ’ to save it in the latest version . But by doing it this way , you will end up with two documents with the same name ( the old version and the new one ). A quicker way is to use the Word Convert option as follows :
Open the ‘ old ’ file , click on the File tab then choose Convert , a box will warn you about saving in a newer version , click OK . The file will now have a . docx filetype , [ Compatability Mode ] will no longer be displayed at the top of the screen and the best part of all , you have available all of the new Word features you couldn ’ t use before . Just remember to save it !
