Health & Safety
reps recognised
By Health & Safety Project Manager Kate Murdoch.
As you may be aware a Health and Safety Project is currently
underway. This is focused on ensuring our systems and processes
required under new legislation and ACC changes are established.
And those that are already established are updated and overhauled
sufficiently to achieve tertiary ACC accreditation in 2018.

yourself, your staff, patients, whānau and visitors safe.at work go

Recently a celebration was held to recognise
our staff who fill a vital volunteer role of helping
to keep us all safe at work.
Our organisation has more than 80 Health & Safety
representatives, eight of whom have been volunteering as reps for
more than ten years.
As a gesture of appreciation those staff who’ve volunteered as our
Health & Safety reps for more than five years were awarded with
certificates at ceremonies held at both Whakatāne and Tauranga
hospitals. Outstanding contribution awards were also given to
Chris Angus in Mental Health Advisory, Zoe Wathey in Employee
Health & Safety (for her work in ED), and Sarah Sim in the
Whakatāne kitchen.
The ceremony also recognised the contribution made by Cathie
Kennedy, Regional Data Integrity Co-ordinator (Lead Health &
Safety Rep) and Rhonda Hunter, Employee Health & Safety
Administrator. The duo has done a great job of looking after our
reps.

Capability Manager Ruth Punnett (left) and Kate Murdoch.
