Christmas should to be a happy occasion for families however the sad reality is that every year Family Violence spikes over the Christmas period. Did you know you can access support at work? Family Violence and Child Protection advocates (previously known as Champions) are available to support staff at both hospitals. Advocates act as the ‘go to’ person for staff with child protection cases and family violence concerns. be given priority and extra training as required. We also have regular advocate meetings on both sites. If family violence is affecting you in any way, you can access EAP confidentially for 3-4 sessions at no cost – 0800 327 669. Reducing violence in our communities is everyone’s responsibility. Over this festive session take a moment to look around and if something appears not right ask the question “are you ok”.
