Booklings Effort 14 Aruni And Uttanka It is a tale from the Mahabharata. It is based on two characters Aruni and Uttanka. They are two students of a Gurukul who show great loyalty, devotion and intelligence in their quests. The story of Aruni goes... It was a normal day and Aruni had gone to fetch some firewood as usual. But then he saw a breach in the embankment of the Guru’s farm. So then he tried to stop the water from flowing by using wet mud. But it did not work. Meanwhile at the Gurukul the Guru and the students were worried about Aruni. Then they went to the farm to see that Aruni had stopped the breach with his body. He was lying in the gap to stop the Guru’s farm from drying up. He had such devotion that he laid down his life for the Guru. The Guru was so impressed with his devotion that he gave him a reward. The second story of the book is the story of Uttanka which goes.... Uttanka was the most favourite of the Guru. He helped the Guru in everything. Then when the time came for the students to depart from the Gurukul. The Guru told Uttanka to stay with him. Then Uttanka stayed for a long time and got very old. Outraged he asked the Guru,
