Way, way back, when you first started reading
this, you might remember that I kept making a
particular comment. It was this: Signs, you gotta
know how to read ’em.
You have to ask, don’t you, “Why on earth
would you start a Christian story with that, and
what could it possibly have to do with me?” The
simple answer is this: Christmas is not the fairy
story of a red-costumed fat man in a flying sleigh.
It is the story of God sending to earth a little baby
boy to be born in a barn and discovered whilst
sleeping in a manger by shepherds.
Having seen the angels from heaven, and
having heard from the God that rules both
