LETS HAVE A ROCKIN CHRISTMAS | HOLIDAY COMPILATION 2016 Bob Shaw “Don’t Forget The Christ In Christmas” Short Story about the song from Bob Shaw: When I was about 10 years old I went to a catholic school. I remember a nun named Sister Maureen, who was very upset about how some people were spelling the word Christmas. “It’s the work of the devil” she exclaimed. “It’s Blasphemy,” to spell Christmas Xmas, leaving out the word Christ in Christmas. A few years later while attending a Christmas mass, the priest was complaining that his congregation was getting too carried away with Christmas shopping and we’re straying away from the true meaning of Christmas. And so later that day I wrote a rather light hearted song about trying to remember the true meaning of Xmas. Err I mean Christmas.
