Bongo Boy Records Releases Escape The Mind Volume Two
New Age Album By Various Artists WORLDWIDE

The other day my friends at Bongo
Boy sent me an advanced copy of
their new album of New Age music
entitled Escape the Mind. For anyone
who is not exactly sure what qualifies
as New Age music, here is a definition
according to the Bongo Boy web page
regarding this album.
NEW AGE music is often
instrumental in nature, incorporating
elements of electronica and non-
Western instrumentation. It is
characterized by the light melodic
harmonies and sounds reproduced
from the natural world. It is intended
to promote serenity, create artistic
inspiration, and relaxation. Used by listeners for yoga massage, and meditation, it is often
associated with environmentalism and New Age spirituality.
Who knew? Certainly not I. I was under the impression that what Bongo Boy calls New Age is
simply well played, very pretty music. Having never been a practitioner or Yoga and personally
not particularly interested in spiritual enlightenment, I am left with the conclusion that it is
possible to view New Age music from multiple perspectives. I prefer to think of the New Age
music I have heard from Bongo Boy as innovative, very pretty music. I can honestly say I have
