A Blues Note to Gospel Blues Hour Band Family members and other Blues Musicians ! Some of you know I am working with Bongo Boy Records pitching a new compilation idea while my studio computer was down earlier this month . We have great news . Bongo Boy Records is on board with creating a Gospel Blues Compilation series .
I will be reaching out to all our ' Gospel Blues Hour ' bands once I have all the information . It is confirmed that Bongo Boy is working on cover art .
For those ' not ' familiar with Bongo Boy and the backdrop of their cover art , let me give you an example . Monique , feel free to correct me or add to this . Their ' Backroom Blues ' compilation covers all feature a picture of something to sit on- a chair , couch , etc . You could hear someone ask ' which CD ' and hear ' the one with the red chair on it ' as the response . These images become synonymous with the compilation . As we ' ve been discussing ' The Gospel Blues ' compilation we decided on something very specific to this genre . I ' m not going to give it away , I ' ll leave that to Monique from Bongo Boy Records when that info is to be dropped . LOL I can ' t have all the fun . That wouldn ' t be fair .
I also sense that some folks seem to think this is something " I " am doing . No , this , like the record store , and the videographers , and the TV station , is something I ' m putting in place for YOU !! If you decide to be part of this compilation , it will all be done through Bongo Boy Records . For that Volume , you will have the label ' s distribution , marketing , etc . machine behind the song that goes on the compilation . That ' s not something I could do . It ' s just another thing I can help make happen . I can open doors , but you have to walk through them .
