Track 12 - Wood Shampoo - I Love You Mummy - I first heard of these guys on another Bongo Boy release . They have one of the oddest names I have ever heard . It seems that on the East Coast a Wood Shampoo is what kids called getting smacked in the head by the cops . Detroit kids were not nearly as creative . We called getting smacked in the head by the cops , well , getting smacked in the head by the cops . Now onto the important stuff , what is it that Wood Shampoo does ? Quite simply , they blow the roof off ! Man , I love their groove . The bass is hot and the keys are on fire . As an old drummer , I have to tip my hat to the shampoo ’ s percussionist - very nice work man . Did I mention that the lead guitar is simply blistering ? As good as the music is , I really like the lyrics . Any song that can rock like this while singing about Frankenstein and the Sphinx gets a huge nod of approval from the Grouch .
