18-HOLE LADIES LEAGUE
“ Pumpkin spice and everything nice .” Time for pumpkin bread and caramel cinnamon lattes . Some may wish for summer to come back , but “ life is gourd ” with refreshing temperatures . Let ’ s stay in Indian Summer for a month or two .
On Tuesday , September 1st , low net winners were : Championship flight ; Sharon Gietl , A Flight ; Jan Tracy and B Flight ; Belinda Green . The Game of the week was a Team Event called , “ Cha , Cha , Cha .” The Winning Team was Jan Tracy , Carole Carpenter and Belinda Green . They must really know how to Cha , Cha , Cha !
Club Championship was held on September 12th and 13th . If you did not participate , you missed out on some great golfing days . Not to say that it was easy golf ; ask any participant . Greens were fast and there were a little bit of nerves and stress ! But there were great ladies to golf with . Overall , 27 Women Golfers participated and , of those , 14 were 18 Hole Lady League members . Congratulations to all . The Ladies Club Champion is Kelly Osborne ! Way to go , Kelly !
On September 15th , we had two events . The Past President Tournament and “ Count Everything but Putts ” game for those not in the tournament . The Past President tournament winner was Diane Fuchs . Attending the Past Presidents ’ Luncheon were past presidents Sally Gribble , Mary Dean Glosier , Barbara Kearns , Bobbie Netsch , Julie Baker , Vicky Konopka , Janet Tracy , Pat Johnson , Diane Fuchs , and Angel Likens . Winners of the Game of the Week were : Championship ; Jean Bennett tied with Sharon Gietl , A Flight ; Lynette Zuch , Flight ; Diane Fuchs , Flight C ; Susie Burkhardt tied with Juanita Harby . Winners for low net were Jean Bennett , Pat Johnson , Diane Fuchs , and Susie Burkhardt in their flights . Congratulations to everyone ! All league contests will end after the Tuesday , September 29th play date .
Some reminders :
For those who are low net winners of the month during League play , we will have The Golfer of the Year Tournament on October 6th . On Tuesday , October 13th , we will have the do-over tournament !! This is a fun day . You get to do a shot / stroke over during the round on each hole .
Best of all , October 20th is the Awards Luncheon with t he Closing Meeting and Election of Officers . Mark your calendars and remember to make a reservation by calling the reservation line or signing up in the locker room .
In District News , The Best Ball / SES Tournament was held September 3rd at Sunset Country Club . Our League members , Julie Bossard , Gail Walters , and Lynette Zuch tied for 2nd place in the Blue Flight . Congratulations Ladies !
Our 18 Hole Ladies League is the only League still playing during September and October . We would love to have any women golfing members join us next year .
