responsible for distributing water throughout the entire property through irrigation lines. Last year we pumped nearly 15 million gallons of water onto the golf course! Leaf cleanup was completed earlier on in the winter but we still have pockets and areas that have been too wet to complete. Clearing around the numerous ponds on the property was done last month. More recently we have started cleaning up gumballs that are littering the ground everywhere. We have also taken down a handful of trees and have another handful to complete before the season starts. The most notable tree removed was the large Cherry tree near #7 green. We began getting concerned with its health and liability of falling onto the green so it had to go. Being proactive is important and the right call was made based on the decay shown inside the tree once cut down. Stumps will be ground, filled and sodded in near future. Finally, the driving range tee is getting a face lift once again in effort to create as much tee space as possible. The “lower” tee on the far right side is being raised to the height of the main tee to establish one large, leveled tee from side to side! Other tasks we hope to get to are a few tee renovations, brush clearing and tree trimming.

Greens aerification is scheduled for Sunday afternoon of March 31st and completed Monday, April 1st. With optimal weather conditions all the greens will be back to normal in 2-3 weeks.

As days start getting longer, winter projects will soon fade to focusing on spring cleanup and green up! The first week of April we will start using the hole location rotation again. All tee markers will be back to their regular designated areas too. Painting cups white and putting all the ball washers back out are among some other things that will start in April as well.
