Club activities do not slow down in the month of June. We will have a Draw Party on Friday, May 31 to determine teams for the Bogey Hills Derby, which will be held on Sunday, June 2. Come out and watch the lowest handicap players in the club compete while you place wagers on who you think will win. You can now sign up for our second “9 & Dine” event to be held on Friday, June 14 at 5:30pm. Couples will compete in a 4-person scramble format for prizes and bragging rights.

Don’t forget, if you are playing in a match play this year, the deadline to complete your first match is June 9. If you need to know who you are playing, please call the golf shop and we will happily help you get in contact with your opponent.

The Junior Academy and PGA Junior League is under way and have several practices under their belt. You will begin seeing our junior golfers out on the course on Saturdays trying to pass their playing tests from 25, 50, 100 yards. The BHCC PGA Junior League team will have its first match against Woods Fort Golf Course on Sunday June 9. The other clubs our team will play against include Lake Forest, Woods Fort Teams 1 & 2, and The Falls. Wish our team good luck!

Needless to say, there is a lot going on at the club and we are excited about all the events of the golfing season. Please come out and enjoy everything that Bogey Hills has to offer.

Cheers to a great season,

Neely Robertson

The month of May was filled with member events, including Opening Day Kick-Off (technically held in April), the Director’s and Queen’s Cup, President and First Lady tournament, and the first “9 & Dine” event of the year. The winning team of Alex Case, Dan Schoenleber, Brandon Theisen, and Kevin Sahrmann beat Roy and Diane Fuchs, Bob Roscoe, and Floyd Thomas in a scorecard playoff for the Opening Day Kick-Off. Carole Carpenter and Kathy Regele who shot 68 took the Queen’s Cup title. They edged out Vicky Rodell and Karan Smith in a scorecard playoff. The Director’s Cup was a tight contest as well with Dave Barklage and Richard Stone winning first place by beating out the teams of John Kastner/Brad Nowak and Dennis Connor/Kerry Scheibler by one stroke. Jim Trimbell and Vicky Rodell convincingly won our President and First Lady event by shooting -13 in the two person best-ball event. Bridget Kaprielian and Dave Schilp took second place by shooting 60. Congratulations to all our winners and many thanks to each of you who participated and made these events so fun!

We have 42 teams signed up, which is six more than last year. We hope to continue to grow this event; if you didn’t sign up this year, be on the look out next year. It is a great event to participate in.
