Hopefully, you have been able to participate in the member survey that the club sent out. This is a helpful way for us to make sure we are meeting your needs. I have gone through the golf related responses received so far, and I feel encouraged that we are making many of the improvements you would like to see. Below are a few of the more common responses and how we are addressing them.
•“Ladies apparel is too limited.” We have heavily increased our ladies’ offerings this year. Lines include JoFit, EP Pro, Adidas, Nike, Bermuda Sands, and Motherputter. If you haven’t been in to see this new apparel, please stop by to check it out.
•“Pricing is too high and we do not have enough sale items.” When I purchase apparel, I attempt to buy from a variety of vendors with varied price points. These vendors will change from season to season to make sure you receive a diversity of offerings. This year I brought in Greg Norman for men (price point around $40 for a shirt) and Bermuda Sands for women (price point around $40 for a shirt). As a member of Bogey Hills Country Club, you automatically receive a 20% discount on all apparel. To compare our pricing, I went to Golf Galaxy to look at their pricing; I can confirm that the Bogey Hills discount is accurate compared to their standard pricing. Also, I make sure that all hard goods are priced competitively, and typically less than, the discount from big box stores.
•“Doesn’t offer the correct sizes.” One of the challenges any buyer faces when purchasing goods is offering a wide variety of options without buying too much. One way to do this is to purchase more items in fewer quantities. This sometimes leads to a size not being ordered or a specific size selling quickly. As I learn what styles sell and in what sizes are most likely to sell, I adjust my purchasing to meet the membership needs. Please know that we can place special orders in any size with the turn around time of typically less than one week.
